NOVEMBER 2009 -
Pruven was able to help the Acosta Flores family of Puerto Penasco, Mexico this past November by helping to build them a house. The Flores family moved to the Puerto Penasco area about a year ago hoping to find more sustainable work. Unfortunately, there was little work to be found.
The Flores family was able to open a small store (not much more than a cardboard box with a window) on a corner in the barrio to help feed the family of five and send the three children (Miguel 17, Luis 13 and Maria 11) to school but have not been able to make much headway in the area of permanent housing.
The Flores family has worked very hard this past year with a local agency to help ‘earn’ their new home by assisting in the construction of homes for other needy families in the area. What this family lacks in financial resources, they definitely made up for in volunteer hours in their community. Pruven is proud to have had the opportunity to work alongside the Flores family in the realization of their dream of having a roof over their heads. Go team!
